Tradition meets the future: WERMA’s new address pays tribute to the company’s history

It is more than just a new address: from 1 May 2026, WERMA Signaltechnik’s address will be Erich-Marquardt-Str. 1. This not only gives the company headquarters a new address, but also makes a piece of the company’s history permanently visible.

A name as a sign of appreciation

The new street bears the name of Erich Marquardt, the former managing partner of WERMA, who shaped the company over decades. In 1993, he took over WERMA and, with entrepreneurial flair and great innovative drive, developed the company into an internationally successful enterprise.

"This street naming is something very special for us,” says Matthias Marquardt, who now runs the family business. “It not only comme-morates my father’s achievements, but also stands for the values that define WERMA to this day: courage, reliability and innovative strength.”

Development of the site continues

The new address is part of a wider development: as part of the ex-pansion of the “Dillgarten Ost” industrial estate and the planned construction of a new factory, the traffic flow around the WERMA site has also been redesigned. The existing access road will in future be officially named “Erich-Marquardt-Straße”.

"We are not only investing in buildings here, but in the future of our site,” said Matthias Marquardt. “The new road connects our history with the next steps in our company’s development.”

Roots in the region

Although the street name is changing, one thing remains the same: WERMA is and will remain firmly rooted in Rietheim-Weilheim. From here, the company has developed into a global market leader in signalling technology – and continues to rely on its location in the region.

The new address thus symbolises both: the company’s origins and its forward-looking vision.
