Signalling safely according to the new machinery directive

In accordance with the new European 2006/42/EC machinery directive (valid since 29.12.2009), all WERMA signal devices are suitable for machine signalling according to their specific application areas:

Signalling safely according to the new machinery directive

All WERMA signal devices are suitable as non-safety relevant signal or warning devices, fulfilling relevant regulations with regard to safety colours and designations. Users benefit from the clear signalling, high quality and long life duration of the WERMA devices.

Maximum signalling values for WERMA signal devices
If a signal device in a machine or facility is safety-relevant, then according to the new directive the design engineer must include this with a key figure in his risk analysis.
WERMA offers this key figure for selected signal towers and optical, acoustic or combined signal devices of various sizes and designs. The TÜV (German technical control board) has tested and certified these signal devices, and the result is that all convincingly achieve the best MTTFd value (> 100 years). The MTTFd value specifies the nominal operational duration until device failure in accordance with the currently valid EN ISO 13849-1 safety standard.

Design engineers can even save on expensive and complex external monitoring with two signal devices. The monitored 826 and 829 permanent beacons feature their own monitoring electronics. They achieve the best possible performance level PL 'e' according to the EN ISO 13849-1 safety standard, and have two zero-potential safety outputs for direct connection to the control.
